When a newborn enters this world, there are two ways of pregnancy ways, normal delivery or cesarean section. The doctor has the job of choosing the safest method according to baby’s and mother’s health.
1. Vaginal birth
Vaginal birth is an empowering form of achievement to women. From a psychological viewpoint , women who go through with a vaginal delivery are said to have a more positive birthing experience. The recovery time is much shorter than women who opt c sections. The mother and baby makes skin to skin contact immediately that bonds them for life. Babies born vaginally receive a better dose of bacteria that strengthens their immune system. But there is also the risk of the baby getting injured during the birth process itself, such as having a bruised scalp or a fractured collarbone.
The birth is more predictable, secure and more convenient than a vaginal birth and going through a long labor. Some babies have respiratory problems when delivered by C-section. Ladies are three times more prone to blood clumps, diseases and confusions from anesthesia, as indicated by a French study. The mother may also be at greater risk of future pregnancy complications, such as uterine rupture, which is when the C-section scar in her uterus ruptures, and placenta abnormalities. Some babies have respiratory problems when delivered by C-section.
So ultimately the choice is the mothers, but listening to the doctor’s advice is best in any case scenario.
