8 Home Remedies For Mole Removal

Most moles are harmless, posing no health concerns. They are problematic primarily from an aesthetic point of view as many people find them unattractive.

1. Apple Cider Vinegar
Some moles are caused by potassium deficiency. This means that apple cider vinegar (ACV), a rich source of potassium, may be a good natural remedy for moles. You can drink it daily by dissolving one tablespoon in a cup of hot water. If the taste is too strong, add honey and lemon. But if you can stand it, just take a spoonful.

Another option is to apply a small amount of ACV right onto the mole. Use a clean cotton swab. Over time, the malic and tartaric acids in the ACV will help dissolve the mole.

2. Garlic
Garlic is used for all kinds of ailments, making it an ideal home mole treatment. This powerful ingredient has sulfuric juices that are capable of removing moles. To use, slice a clove in half and place the cut side on your skin. You can also add minced garlic to the mole and place a bandage on top. Leave it on overnight or for 12 hours, if you can. Repeat for five days or until you see results.

Warning: Applying garlic on skin can cause redness and irritation.

3. Sour Apple Juice
The juice of sour apples provides another strong home treatment for moles. The acidity will thin the mole out, making it go away over time. To apply, soak a cotton ball in sour apple juice and dab it onto the mole. Do this three times each day, for at least three weeks.

4. Pineapple Juice
Fresh pineapple juice can help lighten the pigmentation of moles, thereby making them less noticeable.
Soak a cotton ball in pineapple juice and apply it on your mole.
Leave it on overnight or until the juice dries.
Do this several times a day for a few weeks or until your mole fades.
For best results, use fresh pineapple juice made daily as it contains more citric acid. You can also use other acidic juices like that of lemons, grapefruits, and sour apples.

5. Cumin Seeds
If you have a bleeding mole, use cumin seeds for at-home mole removal. This will stop the bleeding by promoting wound healing. To use it, grind cumin seeds into a pulp and place on the mole. Hold it in place with gauze and adhesive bandages. Leave it on overnight. Repeat for three weeks or until the mole is gone.

6. Lemon Juice
Mole removal at home isn’t complete without lemon juice. As a natural skin whitener, this ingredient will lighten the mole over time. It has great acidic powers just like ACV, sour apple juice, and grapefruit. You can apply it with a cotton swab.
If lemon is too harsh for you, mix it with honey for a milder alternative.

7. Banana Peels
There is a lot of anecdotal evidence that points towards banana peels as an effective treatment for moles. Simply cut a piece of the banana peel and place it on the mole, so that the yellow part of the peel is facing outwards. Hold it in place with adhesive bandages and leave it on for at least an hour. Repeating this every day should get rid of the mole in a few weeks.
For best results, one needs to use the peel of a ripe banana.

8. Aloe Vera
One of the main reasons why this is a preferred treatment for most is that it is completely painless, although most of the evidence supporting its usefulness is purely anecdotal. The fact that it is a natural sunscreen and is a topical anti-bacterial solution adds to the reasons why it is a go to remedy for many!

Following is how you can use Aloe Vera to treat your moles:
Wash the affected area with some lukewarm water and pat it dry.
Take an aloe leaf and chop off its rinds to take it apart.
Take a Q-tip and scrape the organic aloe gel from the leaf and apply it directly on your moles.
Protect the area with gauze and medical tapes and leave it on for about three hours. Doing this for about two to three times everyday should get rid of the moles in about a month.
If you cannot get hold of aloe leaves then purchase a bottle of organic aloe from your local health food store.

Safety Notes
If you choose a strong home remedy for moles, like garlic or lemon juice, avoid the sun for a few hours. Exposure to sunlight may irritate the skin and make things even worse! Instead, use these remedies at night before bed time.
Always do a patch test. You might be sensitive to an ingredient and not even know it. Wait at least 10 minutes to make sure your skin doesn’t have a bad reaction.
If one of these treatments don’t work, don’t lose hope. Try another home remedy for mole removal. Everyone’s skin – and mole – is different, so patience is the key.
