Eating healthy can help with mood in general, but there are some foods that can help with serotonin, the chemical in the brain that contributes to be happy.
A low-fat diet, comprising of veggies and fruits, is essential for keeping your sugar level stable. Never skip meal . Foods enriched in folic acid and omega-3 fatty acid may reduce mood swings and help ease depression.
Foods which have medicinal effect to keep pleasant mood:
1. Pumpkin Seeds
Take one cup of pumpkin seeds once a day to treat anxiety and depression.It contains L-tryptophan which assists in calming hypertension
2. Eat fish
Eat mackerel, sardines, salmon and Albacore tuna 3 times a week to overcome depression. Since fish is packed with omega-3 fatty acids, it influences the production of serotonin which is necessary for the normal functioning of brain.
Eat apple with honey and milk, or drink apple juice to rejuvenate your mind. Potassium, vitamin C, vitamin B, and phosphorous in apples prevent nerve cells from damage
4. Rose Petals
Take 20-30 fresh rose petals and boil them in water for fifteen minutes. Add sugar and drink this mixture. Repeat it 2-3 times a day.
Prepare tea and add powdered cardamom seeds to it. Or else, take a cup of hot water and add 2 cardamom’s powder and sugar to it. Sip it slowly.
Take one or two cups of coffee in a day to relieve depression. Coffee contains caffeine which is a good mood booster.
Note: Don’t take more than 2 cups of coffee in a day as it may enhance depression.
