3. Australia (1992)

Producer Suresh Kumar and Actor Shankar planned to make a film with Mohanlal directed by Rajeev Anchal called Australia. Shankar decided to play as the Villain role. It was about a Formula 1 race driver, Rahul, due to an accident he get severely burned. But at the end he winning an important race and finding the people behind the accident. Lal and Ramya Krishnan were paired for the lead roles and the shooting was done in Chennai but the second half was more expensive as it was intended to be done in Australia.

4. Bramadutthan (1993)

The movie Brahmadathan was inspired from Kamal Hassan’s police movie Soorasamharam (1988). Director Anil did 2 succesful movies with Mohanlal before. Adiverukal and Douthyam. The first look posters of Mohanlal were published in many magazines that time and created big curiosity. But half way through the schedule some disputes between the director and producer were the reason for the cancellation of the film. Director IV Sasi directed this film casting Suresh gopi later on but was a major flop.

5. Swarnachamaram (1996)

Another most awaited film. During making it was a blockbuster expectation because of the presence of Shivaji Ganeshan, Nagesh and Nedumudi Venu along with Mohanlal. The difference in opinion for the climax of the movie was the reason for dropping this big budget film. Rajeevnath was the Director of Swarnachamaram. Mercy killing was the theme of the film.  But producer KBK Menon used the same dates of Mohanlal and Shivaji Ganeshan and done a new film “Oru Yathramozhi” directed by Prathap Pothen.
